General Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
This English version is provided for information only. The German version is authoritative.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all contracts concluded via https://eori-beantragen.de between the operator (Urs Zimmermann, Klybeckstr. 141, 4057 Basel, Switzerland, address for service only, email: info@eori-beantragen.de; hereinafter "Provider") and the customer.
The Provider is a private service provider. It is neither part of nor mandated by the customs administration. The EORI number is issued free of charge by the Generalzolldirektion; applying via the customs portal (www.zoll-portal.de) is possible at any time without the Provider.
2. Subject matter of the contract
The subject matter is the "Customs Portal Companion": a digital step-by-step guide (texts, screenshots, checklists, online and as a PDF version) for applying for, changing or ending an EORI number yourself in the portal of the German customs administration, plus support with usage questions by email. Personal guidance by phone or screen share is not part of the contract.
The customer files the application themselves: they log in with their own credentials, enter their data, review it and submit it. The Provider does not file applications, does not represent the customer towards the customs administration and has no access to the customer's account.
The Provider explains how to operate the portal and what the fields ask for, as stated in the customs administration's own guidance. It does not provide legal services, in particular no assessment of the individual case (such as whether, where or with which details the customer must register). Such questions are answered by the customs information service.
3. Conclusion of contract
A contract is concluded when the customer completes the order form, accepts these terms, expressly requests immediate access to the guide and completes payment. Access is unlocked once payment is confirmed; for bank transfers, after the payment has been checked.
4. Services
The screenshots show the customs portal as of the stated date. The customs administration may change the interface; the Provider updates the guide within a reasonable time but does not warrant constant conformity.
- Assignment of the route (login method, request type) that matches the customer's details in the order form,
- Access to the guide for 90 days from activation, including a PDF version to save and print,
- Answers to usage questions by email within two working days.
5. Customer cooperation
The customer alone is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their details towards the customs administration. They obtain the credentials required for the portal (ELSTER certificate, online ID card or BundID) themselves; the guide describes how. Credentials, PINs or certificate files are not transmitted to and not accepted by the Provider.
6. Prices and payment
Current prices are shown on https://eori-beantragen.de. Payment is made via Stripe (credit card etc.) or SEPA bank transfer. An electronic invoice is provided.
Note: the EORI number itself is free of charge. The fee covers the Provider's guide and support only.
7. Performance
The service is deemed performed when access to the guide is unlocked. Whether and when the customs administration issues an EORI number is outside the Provider's control and not part of the contract.
8. Right of withdrawal
Consumers habitually resident in the European Union have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal under the consumer law of their country of residence. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, it expires once the Provider has begun performance with the customer's express consent and acknowledgement that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal. The customer gives this consent in the order form. See the withdrawal notice for details.
9. Liability
The Provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage from injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damage. No liability is accepted for decisions, delays or rejections by the customs administration, for changes to the customs portal, or for incomplete or incorrect details provided by the customer.
10. VAT
No VAT is shown on the invoice, as there is no VAT liability (Art. 10 para. 2 Swiss VAT Act).
11. Contract language
The contract language is German. Translations are for information only; in case of discrepancies the German version prevails.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Basel, Switzerland. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the consumer's country of residence, in particular within the European Union, remain unaffected.
